THEBLCKGIN isn’t simply looking to make music, she isn’t looking for fame, but rather to leave an impact that lasts generations. The Cameroonian-American Singer-Songwriter by way of Western Maryland, is inspired and constantly engaged in the Arts. Whether it be through music, or fashion, or photography, THEBLCKGIN’s aura can be felt in a variety of mediums making it possible for her to resonate with a diverse audience. As we head towards 2021, THEBLCKGIN has already released a new single on Bandcamp, but more importantly she’s been building and preparing to give us more. Now is the time to witness the breadth of the Maryland artist’s work, because she has no plans to take her foot off the gas.

“Music was just a normal thing in growing up in my home,” THEBLCKGIN says. With her parents singing and playing a myriad of music, THEBLCKGIN was destined for some form of artistic expression. An obvious talent at a young age, THEBLCKGIN began playing the piano at age of 5 and this eventually saw her join the elementary school band at age 9. It was the year after a change in piano teachers that THEBLCKGIN was exposed to the world of performing. In this new round of classes, THEBLCKGIN’s piano teacher hosted a Spring and Winter recital every year giving the students a chance to perform an original song. “I ended up writing my first piece of sheet music and performed it through having her as my teacher,” she recalls. As she grew older, THEBLCKGIN doubled down on writing as her form of expression, through short stories and writing lyrics. All of this provided the foundation and the wide range of talent THEBLCKGIN provides listeners with today, however this was only the beginning for the prolific genius.

THEBLCKGIN is a one of a kind gem creating and expressing herself in a number of ways, music, fashion, photography and more. When you press play on her music you’re immediately invited into a world of emotional vulnerable expression. THEBLCKGIN’s range has continued to stretch as she’s been singing and learning up on the arts for over a decade now. The culmination of everything she’s learned can be heard on her smash hit single “Brown Sugar”. The track actually comes from her 2017 EP “Moonlight” which is in the process of being re-recorded but if the track is any inkling of what’s to come, we’re in for a treat. THEBLCKGIN’s music is meant to provide a calmness and leave you feeling refreshed, “I realize my music can help people, whether it’s to get through the day or just to escape while they are dancing in their rooms,” she says. “I want people to create memories to the music.” 

As mentioned earlier, music is only the beginning for THEBLCKGIN as she’s engaged in fashion, photography, producing and other mediums of expression. This is all done through her own independent creative hub GINGRCO and it’s through this hub that all her future endeavors and releases will take place. THEBLCKGIN & GINGRCO have put out a diversity of content over the years including a guide to New York’s Fashion Week. As you can see THEBLCKGIN provides consistent and quality content while simultaneously giving her audience music that brings peace during such a hectic time. THEBLCKGIN isn’t finished yet, as she’s just wrapped up a Music Video and just released a new single on Bandcamp to close out the year. With 2021 right around the corner, THEBLCKGIN is planning a rerelease of her EP “MOONLIGHT”.
